Modern conveniences sap our ability to complete complex tasks so our brains become adjusted to lax thinking and little stimulation; consequently making us stupider.

Yes, Less intelligent, and less aware. Poeple don't talk indepth anymore. The cell phone goes off and destroys live converstation and interaction. We no longer get together for card games....we watch other people play cards on TV. Do people stop to think how stupid all this is ? I could go on and on.

There may be a portion of the worlds population that is growing less intelligent due to malnutrition. There is a portion of the world population that is less educated due to lack of opportunity to learn. Modern conveniences will not lead to a lowering of intelligence, having a calculater does not mean that a person does not know how to solve a problem, it just makes it faster. A computer cannot think for you, you still need to know how to state the problem and look for the answer. Modern conveniences allow intelligent people to do more work faster but will not compensate for a person who lacks intelligence or education.
