if somehow we find a way to profit off of helping people in need then we will but until then people will remain in oppression. it is so sad how our world is run by money and greed.

yeah, popluation control in part of the government. maybe if they(the government) knew better how to manage the resources that the earth provides we can all be feed. or lleaving it to each individual instead of controlling it. I mean they overuse a piece of land that is not even in "their" territory to harvest ,as an example, potatoe, so they can ship it to a distant land. In many times that overused piece of land if not well used it will not keep producing what it produce in a beginnind cause of the depletion of minerals, nutrients in the soil, eventually uncapable of producing anything. what now? find another land thats not all ready overused? on and on. Thats what their doing. Yeah maybe that piece of land eventually in some or many years could be fertil again, but what about how that little change multipled by every land that is used in the same way affecting the "healthy" lands or ecosystem in a global scale? Another thought was on population control some mentioned before, wouldnt more food eventually lead to maybe less population atleast in the developing countries? im thinking more food less sex drive cause they wont have so much pressure as they do now to stay alive, so being more comfortable would lead to less intercourse. They wouldnt need to be thinking on more hands to help recollect sufficient food to keep themselves alive.

Locking up the food, and destroying the individuals means of producing food or living self sufficiently, is how militant corporate superpowers enslave the people of developing nations, and exploit them for labor and natural resources. Ultimately if all the elements necessary for human survival are owned by a few entities, all others who want to live will owe them for that opportunity. More food, more people. Hunger is a mechanism of control.

I have searched high and low for this answer. If you look at a previous post of mine, I have come to the conclusion, as harsh as it may sound, population control. Ultimately, we do have enough resources as a planet to feed everybody, whether this be through technology, farming, etc. I sat for weeks thinking this through. the answer I came to kinda killed a part of me. Hunger is a natural population control. Remember our parents yelling at us to quit eating them out of house and home? That is was would happen. If we feed everybody, this will stimulate the population growth resulting in more resources being used to house and feed even more people. Without the natural population control "Hunger", we would eat ourselves into extinction. This was a lot for me to wrap my head around at first. The big governments have the resources and means to do it, but in the end, it would doom us as a world.

the sad thing about that is, we do. the people who can afford it, waste it. and even if we did produce enough food for the ENTIRE human race to live off of and waste some also, there would be no resources left. the human race is so enormous that the entire earth would be dead and gone by now if everyone got what they wanted to needed.

If someone would ask me that question I would answer: I personally do not contribute to feeding all hungry people. Because I do not feel their pain and hunger. I do not feel it because my connection and love for all of mankind (therefor also the ones who are hungry) is little. If they needed my help, on a more fundamental and deeper level. A spiritual level, they would get it. I would feel them. But they don't, the despair of others doesn't do anything to me. Only the love and attention others give makes me perform any action. I am sure I once had a life in which I suffered from starvation, It's not like thats the end of your soul. It only makes you stronger.

Nothing good would come from feeding everyone in the world. Yes the logistics would not work but feeding everyone in the world would have the same detrimental affect food aid has had in Africa. I recommend Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo. The real solution is in the empowerment of women, through education and internal changes in the way a society thinks. Other than charities like Oxfam we could try building giant libraries in third world countries and just leaving the doors open. Think.

Think back to Economics 101....the problem of distribution. We can grow tons of food, but getting it to where it needs to be is the hard part.

People need to care and share. And not only share our excess food but also share the wealth of knowledge and resources that all may provide their own food. Anything less shows the greed and apathy of the people behind the world systems.

There are people going hungry in even the richest nations on this planet. However, it is often not from the lack of food but from the lack of funds to purchase food. That said, many people need to understand that food is fuel for our body and does not always have to have a new or unique flavor. Balanced meals of appropriate caloric value are attainable for costs that would allow access and/or distribution to the entire planet. Unfortunately, for many parts of the world, a full stomach is not enough. Flavor and packaging sells and we fall for it.
